Drift Boat Rowing Instructions: How To Maneuver Down A River
Posted by joey on Tuesday, December 12 @ 05:02:48 PST
I have always wanted to learn how to row a drift boat and be able to take a friends and family for a float down the river. I have been on floats before with guides and always enjoyed seeing the river from the river. It was great transportation from pool to pool as well. I have been reading about rowing online and in magazines but would really like to get out there and learn hands on. Has anyone ever taken a class, guided with a drift boat or just have any information on learning how to row?

And, as my frind Jim T. told me one time, "Just row away from anything you don't want to hit."
Positioning the drift boat for your angler is the "art". Also anchoring...when and where to drop and hold...that's tough.
Some drift boats turn on a dime and others are trunks. They are definately great platforms from which to cast and I really enjoy my time at the oars... |
