Swinging Soft Hackles: Deadly Emerger Technique
Posted by fliesandfinseast on Monday, April 30 @ 16:16:20 PDT
This year I have started swinging soft hackles for trout when they are feeding on emerging bugs. It has proved successful thus far tricking a few fish feeding just under the surface. I tie two soft hackles on and cast them into the current at a 45 degree angle. I then let the flies swing and hang in the current. Before making another cast I will twitch my line a bit and that will often entice a strike. This is a good technique used when fishing for picky fish.
