Fall Striped Bass Fly Fishing: Just Throw Your Fly In The Mix!
Posted by fisherboy on Wednesday, July 25 @ 16:08:19 PDT
It seems as though when the month of August comes to an end the striper fishing really heats up. All of the water on the New England sea board becomes littered with small silversides and bunkers. The stripers realize that they need to put on the feed for the long road south to warmer waters, which means big fish busting up and down the coastline. This is my favorate time of year. I like to throw EP bunker flies or white decievers into the blitzes, but I tend to use big, long, white feather wings for the times when I'm not casting into the busting fish. What are your favorate types of flies for the fall striper action?

I tied one last year I called the Chrostmas Clouser. It is black with green and red flash. Seemed to do the trick. Big Eyed Deceivers are fun to cast too. I love to try andything big and ugly. |
