Tips, Ties And Tactics Salmon And Steelhead Fly Patterns: No Weight Needed
Posted by bo on Wednesday, September 12 @ 06:25:53 PDT

I fish a pretty well known river in Northren New York for Salmon and Steelhead. There are some new regulations that do not allow the use of weight in certain sections of the river. I don't usaually use allot of weight as it is but, sometimes it calls for it. I was wondering what are some good patterns to use for Salmon and Steelhead that you dont have to fish on the bottom?

Bo-

Can you fish sinking line? If so you should try spey streamer patterns. Bait fish imitaions, leeches, flesh flies etc.. I bet that you would get some. Especially on the swing.

Good luck let us know how you do.
